Who’s Behind Resting Paws?
Hello, I’m Claire, the owner of Resting Paws.
I have spent much of my working life caring for animals as both a former veterinary nurse and a professional dog groomer, alongside being a lifelong pet owner. Throughout those years, one thing has always remained the same – my love and respect for animals, and the importance of treating every pet with the kindness and dignity they deserve.
When you contact Resting Paws, you’ll speak directly to me. I personally care for your pet throughout every stage of their journey, from the moment they are entrusted to me until they are reunited with you. Knowing exactly who is caring for your beloved pet can provide comfort and reassurance during an incredibly difficult time.
I understand how emotional and overwhelming saying goodbye can be. My role is to care for your beloved pet with love and respect, while supporting you with honesty and compassion, helping you feel informed, supported, and cared for during one of life’s most difficult moments.
To be chosen as the last person to care for your beloved pet is a true honour.
Flora – Children’s Wellbeing Officer
Flora is our beautiful Romanian rescue with a wonderfully distinctive look and an even more unique personality. After a difficult start in life, she now reigns as the much-loved Queen of Resting Paws – and she knows it!
Affectionately known as the “Nanna Flo,” Flora has a very special place in her heart for children. Whether they’re toddlers or teenagers, she’s convinced every child has come to see her. She’ll happily greet them with her signature “wooo,” plenty of cuddles, and as many gentle kisses as they’ll allow.
With ears and teeth that seem to have personalities of their own, Flora has a way of making everyone smile. She reminds us every day that love, kindness and a second chance can transform a life.
Minnie – Chief Comforter
Minnie is our Shih Tzu cross rescue and, at just 5kg, she’s the smallest member of the team. With a wonderfully spicy personality and a permanently grumpy little face, she’s impossible not to love.
A true Velcro dog, Minnie’s favourite place is wherever I am. She loves curling up on a lap, soaking up cuddles and belly rubs, and she’s very easily bribed with a tasty treat! When she’s not by my side, she’s usually marching around proudly with a tennis ball or a giant soft toy that’s almost bigger than she is.
As Chief Comforter, Minnie takes her role very seriously. At times, the work I do can be emotionally challenging, but Minnie always seems to know when a cuddle is needed. She has a wonderful way of quietly staying close, reminding me every day of the unconditional comfort our pets bring when we need them most.
